We do a lot of creative writing, to begin, as this tends to be the most fun way to connect writing with what comes naturally to children--storytelling! The goal of this class is for your learner to grow in confidence as a writer. What specific skills we work on will be customized based on your learner's needs!
I have a Bachelor of Arts in English, having graduated with honors from Texas Woman's University. I also have multiple teaching certifications, included EC-4 (Elementary - 4th grade) All Subjects, 6-8 English, and ESL K-6. In addition, I have over 10 years of experience teaching elementary-aged children in a brick and mortar classroom!

This class is a great fit for learners who do not "fit in the box" of traditional curriculums, as Ms. Price customizes each lesson to the unique needs of each learner. Ms. Price enjoys working with neurodivergent, 2E, and gifted learners!
Learners will have the option to do their writing on paper or typing in Google docs. For some learners, pen to paper works best. However, for other learners, the ability to type out their thoughts improves their writing process. I have great success helping learners both ways, so we will do whatever is most comfortable for your learner. If your learner would like to use Google docs, please make sure that they are logged into Google before class starts.
