The most important part of this class is learning how to check the creditability of the media resource. Open discussion will be encouraged with time divided between students to each read their articles.
The topics that are approved for this class are:
* Any new, current inventions
*Any new, current science / space / archology
*New issues concerning Earth. For example: earthquakes, flooding, Tornadoes, Tsunamis/ Geology news.
*National News Pieces must be fact based, and not biased. (This is not a debate class, and students will not be taught about politics or religions, but may encounter articles based on events such as elections, or holidays) I will redirect discussion about political parties.

學習目標

Students will learn how to check for credibility by understanding how to site a source. Students will be able to research the media sources. For example knowing the difference between a published article and a blog. All current event articles will be excepted. However, if it is inappropriate due to graphic content, or if it is political/religious and (Not from an Unbiased standpoint), I will redirect the topic to a new discussion. All political and religious discussions must come from a non bias standpoint, and only be related to the article. This is not a place to discuss religious or political view points. Politics are part of current events and articles may inevitably include political or religious information. We will not expand upon those ideas. Instead we will discuss the result of the event that took place in the article.

"I have taught globally and in diverse classrooms throughout my entire career. It is important for students to feel comfortable in my classroom so that they can be actively involved. Teaching students to communicate with each other, no matter the cultural differences or language barriers, is a skill that I have fine-tuned over the years.
