Have you ever wondered why rocks look so different from each other and where they came from? In this 3-day 'Rockin' class, students will become Junior Geologists while exploring the Rock Cycle, and the different types of Rocks, Minerals, Fossils, and Crystals all around us. Students will learn to identify and classify rocks all while having a 'rockin' good time, through a variety of games, experiments, hands-on activities, and interactive slideshows. Come along and learn how much Geology Rocks and why it matters to us. Day 1: Rock History: On day one, students will explore the variety of stories rocks tell. Day 2: Riding the Rock Cycle and Rockin out in the Kitchen: On day two, students will travel through the rock cycle, learning about the never-ending rock cycle. They will then recreate the rock cycle using Starburst candy (adult supervision required for a small portion at the end of class) Day 3: Let's Party! Rocks & Minerals Identification and mesmerizing glow in the dark minerals.
