In this class we will learn how to create a crochet in the round project to make a small draw string bag. In the first lesson we will: - Create a design - Make the chain base - Add the single crochet to complete the bottom - Start the half-double crochet sides In the second lesson we will: - Finish the sides - Make the drawstring - Weave in the ends

Week 1Lesson 1Start Crochet in the RoundWe start our project with a chain stitch and complete the base of the project. We start the sides, and practice the half-double crochet.Lesson 2Finishing our Draw String BagNow we complete the top of the bag and the draw string. We will thread it through the top of the bag and weave in the ends.
- Students will learn how to crochet in the round and practice the half-double crochet stitch.
I have an engineering design degree. Both art and engineering are topics I love teaching, and I hope to build confidence and the love of learning for all my students.

Your student will need approximately 2oz. of cotton #4 medium "worsted" weight yarn like this one: https://www.joann.com/lily-sugar-n-cream-super-size-solids-yarn/xprd923746.html, and a size 5.5 mm crochet hook.
