Ever wondered how the criminal justice system really works? In this 4-week live course, learners will explore the foundations of laws, policing, courts, and corrections through interactive discussions, real-world case studies, and a mock trial. This course is perfect for teens interested in law, forensic psychology, criminology, or social justice—no prior experience needed!

📅 Course Structure & Weekly Breakdown
✔ Week 1: Introduction to Criminal Justice – How laws are created, enforced, and interpreted
✔ Week 2: Policing & Law Enforcement – Myths vs. reality, training, use of force, and policing debates
✔ Week 3: The Court System – Arrest, trial, plea deals, and sentencing, with a mock trial activity
✔ Week 4: Prisons, Punishment & Reform – Sentencing laws, wrongful convictions, and system reform

📚 How is this class structured?
We meet once per week for 60-75 minutes for 4 weeks.
Each session includes interactive discussions, case studies, and debates to encourage critical thinking.
Learners will engage in a mock trial to experience real courtroom procedures.
Optional assignments will be provided for those seeking homeschool credit or extra enrichment.

👩‍🏫 Teaching Style & Interaction
This is a highly interactive class—students are encouraged to ask questions, share opinions, and engage in debates.
I use real-world examples, landmark cases, and current events to make lessons engaging and relevant.

Learners will collaborate in small discussions and role-playing activities (e.g., acting as a prosecutor or defense attorney in a trial).
💡 Experience & Background Knowledge
✅ No prior knowledge is required—just curiosity and a willingness to learn!
✅ Ideal for high school students (ages 13-18) interested in law, law enforcement, or public policy.
✅ Great for homeschoolers seeking a structured social studies elective.

🚀 Late Enrollments & Catching Up
Learners who join late will receive recap materials and discussion notes from previous sessions so they can quickly get up to speed. Every class includes a short review to ensure all students stay on track.

By the end of the course, students will have a strong foundational understanding of the U.S. criminal justice system and be able to think critically about how laws and policies impact society.
