I will personalize specifics goals to fit each learner, but generally, the goal is for learners to gain more confidence in their writing and improve their writing skills.

I received my minor in creative writing from Indiana University Northwest. During my time there, I took many writing workshops and honed my skills. Several of my short stories have been published in independent zines. I am knowledgeable about the publishing industry and write novels when I am not teaching.

Almost every class will have a writing assignment. Sometimes these will be short and completed during class. Other times these will be longer homework assignments such as writing a short story or essay. This homework will take a couple of hours a week.

I will look over every assignment and give learners feedback. Usually, this consists of what they did well and what they can work on for next time. I will generally give progress reports to parents if I notice something noteworthy, but if you would like me to assess your child in a specific way, please let me know.
