By learning about literary devices, you'll be able to recognize them in the books you read and use them effectively in your own writing. This knowledge will help you become a more skilled reader and a more creative writer. What Will Be Taught: Metaphors and Similes: Learn how to compare two different things to create strong images and convey deeper meanings. Perspective: Understand how the point of view affects the way a story is told and how readers perceive it. Onomatopoeia: Discover words that imitate sounds and how they can make your writing livelier and engaging. I started my path to teaching in college when I volunteered with AmeriCorps. I went on to teach in traditional public schools after I completed my M.Ed. and received my teaching license, but I quickly learned the school environment was not the ideal setting for myself or my child. That is when I transitioned to homeschooling and teaching online. I have been teaching writing course for fifteen years. My primary objective in each class is to help the learners feel comfortable and gain confidence in their writing.
All Academy teachers have experience and background in providing writing instruction with continued professional development and training.
