Students will improve their understanding of the six traits of writing while taking part in creating a one of a kind children’s book.

I have a bachelor’s degree in Elementary education.  I worked in the brick-and-mortar school setting for 10 years. I have specific experience working with students to develop their writing skills.  I am also a published author/illustrator across several genres.

Think or write down ideas for our class character. Events that could take place, additional character that can be introduced, and funny elements we can include in our story. If the student wants to create their own concept illustrations, this is to be done outside of class time and will be discussed during class time.
