In this weekly 8-class course, students will learn the writing process of creating a book and becoming an author of their very own book. Each class will build on the previous class topics, making attendance important. We will review the importance of the writing process: Brainstorming, Preparing, Drafting, Revising, and Proofreading. Students will improve their understanding of the six traits of writing while creating a children’s book of their own.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Elementary education. I worked in the brick-and-mortar school setting for about 10 years. I have specific experience working with students to develop their writing skills. I am also a published author/illustrator across several genres.
