課堂經歷
Did you recently get a Cricut as a gift? Or maybe you would like to learn how to create your own gifts for friends and family? Perhaps you want to design your own clothes by adding unique images and sayings? If so, then this is the class for you! In this multi-week class, you will earn the basics on how to use your Cricut, how to use Design Space, how to pick the best designs to use and to create your own, and which materials are best to use for your project. This class will be taught as a hands-on class. Each week we will build on our skills, and will have a different skill/project to focus on. Class 1: Introducing your machine and Design Space. Project: Getting used to Design Space (no cutting this week) Class 2: Using different materials, accessories, and mats. Project: Design and cut your name from Design Space using card stock Class 3: Creating, and cutting, a simple card using images from Design Space. Project: Card using images of your choice Class 4: How to draw/write with your Cricut. How to upload images. Project: Small sign using draw tool and images from Design Space, or your own upload. Class 5: How to combine cutting and drawing into one project: Project: Card using cut and draw together Class 6: The different types of vinyl and what they're used for. Project: Cutting name using vinyl to personalize an object of your choice Class 7: How to layer vinyl Project: Creating a decal using multiple colors of vinyl Class 8: How to apply vinyl to an object. Project: Designing, cutting, and applying vinyl to object of your choice Class 9: Class decides on project Class 10: Class decides on project. **This schedule is subject to change depending on skill level and/or needing to spend more time on more difficult components** Note: We can learn how to design and cut materials to apply to t-shirts, however, the application of the iron-on must be completed in the presence of an adult due to using an iron. Students will be provided with materials list that will be necessary for each week's skill. Some of these materials can be used over multiple weeks. Students should have a basic knowledge of how to use a computer. Design Space and a Cricut is required.

供應清單
This will vary from week to week and will be posted the day after each scheduled class time as it will depend on how far we get in each lesson. However, this is a list of essentials required: -Cricut (I will be using the Maker, but also have the Explorer) -Computer -Design Space -Mat (green preferred, however we may use another color depending on project) -Tools (sharp scissor. Cricut Weeding tool, Cricut Spatula, Scoring Wheel/Stylus -Card stock (various colors/patterns, medium weight) -Cricut pens/markers (the Cricut comes with one marker, which is sufficient for what we will need) -Vinyl (permanent or removable). Cricut sells their own brand and works as a good starting point. At least 2 colors. -Transfer Tape (clear vinyl to help transfer vinyl to other surface. Can use clear, contact paper from Dollar Store) -Iron-on Vinyl. At least two colors. -Liquid glue (Tacky glue) or Glue stick (they don't adhere as well as liquid glue does) -Iron or Cricut Easy Press for iron-on vinyl class. Will need a solid pillow case, or heat press teflon sheet to adhere vinyl and protect project.

教師專業知識和證書
Hello there!
My name is Kathy and I have been a certified science teacher the last 20 years! My favorite classes to teach are any that have to do with the ocean, and its inhabitants. I have a degree in Marine Biology, am a certified SCUBA diver, have taught aquatic summer camps at a local aquarium, and have volunteered for multiple aquariums and rescue groups.
I also love to craft...in particular, to create things with my Cricut. I also have a degree in Fashion Design and love to sew. I look forward to adding classes that focus on each of these passions.
As a teacher, I often notice students lacking the technology skills needed to be successful in the classroom. I will also offer classes on how to use programs such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and a variety of other applications often used.
I really look forward to meeting you!
