Welcome to the exciting world of graphic design with Canva! In this introductory class, students aged 11-15 will embark on a creative journey to explore the basics of digital design. Canva is a user-friendly design tool that empowers young designers to create stunning graphics with ease. Whether your child is interested in creating eye-catching social media posts, unique greeting cards, or personalized posters, this class will provide the perfect foundation. 

What to Expect:

-- Introduction and Icebreaker: We'll start with a fun icebreaker to get to know each other and share our favorite designs.
-- Canva Interface Tour: Students will get a comprehensive tour of Canva's dashboard, learning how to navigate templates, elements, text, and uploads.
-- Design Principles: We'll introduce essential design principles such as contrast, alignment, hierarchy, and balance, using real-life examples to illustrate good and bad design.
-- Hands-On Activity: Students will dive into their first project by creating a personalized greeting card. They'll choose a template, customize text and images, and use various elements to make their design unique.
-- Show and Tell: Each student will have the opportunity to share their creation with the class, receiving positive feedback and suggestions for improvement.
-- Q&A and Wrap-Up: We'll conclude with a Q&A session to answer any questions and provide a sneak peek into our exciting 6-week Canva course.
