This is a one-day crash course on how to perform operations with integers (negative and positive numbers). It is designed for students who have been taught operations with integers but didn't understand or need to be brushed up on the concept. The student will be given a printable workbook. There is a before class section that students will be expected to do ahead of time. The workbook will also feature an in-class section and a practice (optional) section to do after the class is over. Answers will be given for all sections. The following math concepts will be discussed: Adding and subtracting integers Multiplying and dividing integers Exponents with integers Order of operations with integers The class will be one day only and will be 1 and a half hours long. All materials will be provided. No grades or assessments will be performed in this course.

For the past 4.5 years, I have worked at a college as the Program Coordinator Sr. of Developmental Education. During this time I ran the Learning Labs (tutoring centers) on all five sites, helped students become college level in math and English, created boot camps and workshops on basic math topics, and taught developmental math classes. What I experienced is that most students who struggle with math, struggle with the basic foundations of math. I now want to focus on making sure students enter college with these skills.評論
