I am a native English speaker, TESOL certified and have taught over 1600 ESL classes and over 400 ESL (English as a Second Language) students. The small class size (up to 4 students) provides a comfortable space and allows plenty of 'talk time' for each student. Most learners in this class meet the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) levels B1-B2, but all students are welcome. Conversation topics are chosen prior to class. Students will also be encouraged to discuss topics of interest to them. What is your favorite activity/hobby and why? Do you have a book you enjoy reading? Who are the main characters? I am excited to help you gain confidence and build your English language skills. Corrections will be quick and encouraging. I look forward to conversing with you soon! Weekly Topics: Week of April 1 - Spring Activities Week of April 8 - How To: Step by Step Week of April 15 - Name Your Top 3! Week of April 22 and 29 - Create a Story *These weeks are combined because there is no class from April 24-29 Week of May 6 - Compare and Contrast Week of May 13 - Opinions Week of May 20 - When I Grow Up... This is a group class. I have been teaching for over 15 years in various areas of education. I believe learning should be fun. I enjoy teaching reading, writing, and the English language. I also enjoy teaching classes that keep us moving - my kids are very active! My class offerings will include phonics/reading, writing, the English language (ESL, ELL) history and geography, art, and science. My one-on-one class offerings will include tutoring options in reading, writing, math, research projects, and the English language.
I have a Master's degree from the University of Rochester and a teaching license from the state of New York. I spent several years teaching high school level history courses to students ages 15-18, tutoring various subjects to students of all ages, and coaching. I have been teaching ESL online for over 2 years and enjoy the on-line format. I also currently homeschool our two children.
I enjoy spending time with family and seeing the excitement of discovery on my kids' faces when they learn something new. We enjoy reading, hiking, and exploring new adventures together. I hope you will join me on the next fun adventure!評論
