Students are recommended to have about 6 months or more of prior Spanish exposure in order to feel comfortable in this class. It is recommended to come in with a foundation in basic topics such as colors, numbers, How are you, I am good, some prior knowledge about masculine and feminine nouns, and a little bit about conjugating verbs in Spanish. Please message if you have any questions about that. If you would like your learner to join level 2 but are unsure if they are a good fit, I am open to meeting your learner for a one on one session to gauge what they know. We could also do a two-week boot camp style course one-on-one to prepare them to join this level two class. 

My teaching style for this course will be teaching basic phrases and vocabulary through images and gestures/ motions. Then students will get a chance to speak and respond to questions in Spanish so we can build friendships in the class through the language learned. Students will learn through repetition and connecting with me and other students. There will be slides and flashcards to show the images of different vocabulary words. We will begin each class with an icebreaker, the first classes starting in English and then slowly transitioning to starting each class with icebreakers in Spanish (with help and translation when needed) Next the new material will be taught by me speaking and the students repeating. Then I will give each student a chance to put the new material in to practice by asking me or another student a question in Spanish and giving them a chance to respond.
