Students do not need any experience or knowledge prior to this class. My teaching style for this course will be teaching basic phrases and vocabulary through images and repetition. Then students will get a chance to speak and respond to questions in Spanish so we can build friendships in the class through the language learned. Students will learn through repetition and connecting with me and other students. I always have cheat sheets already drawn out for learners to see conjugations in...
A pencil and paper or notecards for occasional note taking. Notes are only recommended to be taken when advised by the teacher. This is few and far between as I recommend students take notes after class while watching the recordings or by copying vocab or phrases in the Google classroom.
I often show short clips of songs from Youtube videos that are directly correlated to the material we learn in class. I provide each enrolled learner with access to a Google classroom which includes songs, flashcards, and other materials in order to practice and have fun outside of class.
