What You Should Expect This is a one-time meeting time to learn anything that a student would like related to the subjects that I already teach. The intention is that we supercharge your computer building experience with dedicated instruction and guidance. You do not need to have prior experience or have completed any other class. Teaching Material and Style For this type of class, I try to be as interactive and flexible as possible. I teach by creating parallels between tech functions and normal household processes or items. Using this method lets students draw upon things with which they are already familiar. What I Expect Students who sign up for this class are enthusiastic about computers, video games, the internet, or technology to some degree. Because this is an individualized class, it is significantly easier to teach and engage on a personal level when the zoom camera is on during class as much as circumstances allow.

My own goal for students is that they end each class with a better understanding of the topic that they wanted to know more about or that the technical issues that were causing difficulties are closer to being resolved.

For over three years now, I've been sharing my knowledge and passion on Outschool, teaching about topics that fascinate me. My journey began with classes on video editing for gamers, and since then, I've expanded my curriculum to include a broad range of subjects that reflect my diverse interests and professional experience. From building a gaming PC to troubleshooting home networks, and even exploring the intricacies of various online platforms and AI technologies, I've relished every moment of this educational journey.
Despite my full-time role as a Communications Director, where I regularly engage with video production, AI tools, online platforms, and general technology, I continue to teach. The joy I experience when I see students making connections in their knowledge is unparalleled. My schedule may be limited, but the fulfillment I derive from teaching is limitless.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in the power of active listening. I believe that the most profound learning experiences occur when we truly listen to others before expressing our own thoughts. This principle guides me not only when I'm teaching my four boys, who range in age from 7 to 14, but also when I'm instructing adults or students about technical processes. It's a principle that has served me well from grade school through high school, and beyond.
With over 30 years of experience in the tech industry, I bring a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to my classes. I'm excited to share my insights from working with video, AI, online platforms, and general technology, and to help students navigate these complex yet fascinating fields.

I believe that the best things happen when listening to other people all the way before trying to have a say. I find that it applies when teaching my own kids (four boys 10 and under) and when I am instructing adults or students about technical processes.
