This includes questions about their academic background, standard test scores (SAT, ACT, etc.), GPA, extracurricular activities, and leadership roles. 2) Essay Draft (optional): Students can submit a draft of their college application essay before the session for a thorough review, allowing for in-depth feedback and refinement during the consultation. 3) Student Background Information: A comprehensive questionnaire covering standard exams, GPA, extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and other relevant experiences. 4) School Expectations: A section where students outline their expectations for the schools they are applying to, including location preferences, school size, programs of interest, and campus culture. 5) List of Target Schools: Students will be asked to provide a list of colleges or schools they are interested in.
進度報告
1) Mid-Session Progress Report: After the initial consultation and halfway through the preparation process, I will provide a comprehensive progress report. This will include an evaluation of the student’s strengths and areas needing improvement, a review of any completed assignments (e.g., essays, resumes), and an updated action plan. It will highlight what has been achieved so far and outline the next steps to ensure steady progress toward their admission goals. 2) Final Progress Report: At the conclusion of our sessions, I will deliver a final report summarizing the student’s overall development. This will include a detailed assessment of their readiness for applications, feedback on completed tasks (such as essays and interview practice), and final recommendations for their application submissions. The report will serve as a confidence boost, reaffirming their preparation and helping them make any last-minute adjustments.

From building a strong application strategy to perfecting personal essays and preparing for interviews, this personalized session helps students highlight their strengths and tell their unique story. Students will receive tailored advice on how to present themselves to admissions committees, making them stand out from the competition. Whether applying to Ivy League schools, top public universities, or private institutions, this session provides the expertise needed to navigate the complexities of the application process confidently.

What will be taught?

1) A thorough understanding of how to craft a strong, compelling college application.
2) Strategies for writing standout personal essays that reflect the student’s authentic self.
3) Tips on effective interview techniques, from answering common questions to managing nerves.
4) Guidance on selecting the right schools based on the student’s preferences, strengths, and aspirations.
5) Insights into how to leverage extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and awards to enhance the application.
6) A clear roadmap for managing application deadlines and requirements.

What topics will you cover?

1) Application Strategy: Developing a holistic approach, including choosing the right schools, creating a timeline, and highlighting key experiences.
2) Essay Writing: Crafting compelling narratives, brainstorming ideas, structuring essays, and polishing drafts.
3) Interview Preparation: Building confidence for interviews, practicing typical questions, and learning how to articulate strengths effectively.
4) Extracurricular and Awards Showcase: Understanding how to present activities, leadership roles, and achievements to add value to the application.
5) Resume Building: Formatting and fine-tuning resumes to highlight relevant experiences and skills.

How is your class structured?

1) Initial Consultation: We begin with a comprehensive assessment of the student’s background, goals, and current application status. This helps tailor the session to meet specific needs.
2) Pre-Session Assignments: Students will complete a questionnaire and may submit drafts of essays, resumes, and other materials for review before the session.
3) One-on-One Session: The session will be interactive, featuring a combination of guided discussion, hands-on activities, and feedback. We’ll work together to build or refine key parts of the application.
4) Mid-Session Progress Check: After a few weeks, students will receive a detailed progress report, assessing their preparation and offering suggestions for improvement.
5) Final Consultation: A final check-in to review the completed application materials, address any last-minute concerns, and provide a final progress report with recommendations.

How will you teach?

I utilize a blend of discussion-based teaching, practical exercises, and personalized feedback. During the session, students will have the opportunity to ask questions, discuss their ideas, and receive immediate, constructive input. We will work through sample essays, conduct mock interviews, and explore real-life examples to ensure understanding and confidence. Visual aids such as slides and sample documents will be used to illustrate key concepts, and additional resources will be provided for further learning.

What’s your teaching style?

My teaching style is interactive, supportive, and student-centered. I believe in guiding students to discover their strengths and helping them present their unique stories effectively. I encourage active participation, creating a comfortable environment where students can express their concerns and aspirations. I also adapt my approach based on each student’s learning style, whether they prefer hands-on practice, detailed discussions, or visual learning.

How much will learners get to interact with you?

Students will have extensive interaction with me throughout the session. The one-on-one format allows for a tailored experience, where they can ask questions, receive immediate feedback, and participate in practical exercises. There will be open discussions to brainstorm ideas, step-by-step guidance for writing and editing essays, and mock interview practices. Students are encouraged to share drafts, resumes, and any other materials they want to review, ensuring they leave the session with clear, actionable steps for their college applications.
