Lesson is aimed for students new to Coding with Scratch. Lessons will be taught slower to help students understand the basics of Coding with Scratch. Students should be able to read commands and follow along with teacher. Please note: if students new to coding, they may need adult support. Students will create a new project using the following commands: - code one or more sprites - change the size of a sprite - use one or two backdrops - add speech bubbles to sprites - add sounds to project - change costume of a sprite - use repeat/if-then controls - use hide/show commands Please join class on time. Students that arrive late may not be able to complete their project. I recommend you use a computer to code. It's also beneficial to join class using a different device in order to see teacher's screen.

Hello! My name is Cynthia Burleigh. I live in Texas. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor in Science in Information Systems. I started my career in a banking institute, but quickly realized I wanted to become a teacher. I have been working in education for 15 years, 3 years teaching with Outschool. I am Bilingual Certified - speak English and Spanish and teach Bilingual and ESL students. My teaching experience includes: Robotics, Codings, Spanish, Pre K - 3rd grade Bilingual instruction, Bilingual Reading Specialist, and STEM teacher.
I love to teach Reading, Math, Spanish, Technology and STEM (including robotics). I love spending time with family, teaching, and running. A little fun fact about me...I run marathons for fun! I can't wait to see you in class.評論
