This one-time class introduces students to the basics of coding by walking through drawing basic shapes in JavaScript. Kids will learn how a compiler runs step by step. All classroom materials are provided. This class is meant as an introductory class to JavaScript programming. More advanced concepts will be taught later.

John Nguyen is an award-winning computer science tutor with 6 years of teaching experience, empowering students nationwide with a love of learning. Having helped students of all backgrounds including gifted, ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, and learning disabilities, John has received accolades such as the Best of Tutors.com and maintained a 5 star rating on Wyzant.
Beyond the classroom, John is a software engineer, having worked at Fortune 500 companies and conducted research at top institutions, such as Rice University and UT Southwestern Medical Center. His innovations have earned him 1st Place and Most Innovative awards at the Southwest Airlines hackathon.
In the past, John was an exam tutor for high school students, where he coached the SAT and helped students to raise scores by 140-340 points. His former students went on to become National Merit Finalists and gain admission into Columbia University, University of Southern California, Rutgers University and receive full ride scholarships to the University of Alabama.
John graduated magna cum laude with his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Dallas, where he was awarded a full ride scholarship. He serves as an advisor for the UTD Out in Tech Chapter, where he oversees a 1-1 mentorship program with Samsung Electronics America for marginalized students entering the tech industry.
He enjoys connecting with students and spreading the joy of learning to students around the world.評論
