In this class, learners will create holiday art by making a Christmas tree forest on a dark piece of construction paper. We will experiment with light and dark, drawing, colors, and blending. We will begin by sketching the basic shapes on our paper. We will use the chalk to fill in shape and color. We will add colorful ornaments and tree toppers. We will create a snowy ground. Learners will tap into their creativity to make art with a holiday theme. Learners will be able to experiment and learn to create art with chalk.
Construction paper, black or another dark color such as blue Pencil Colored chalk (sidewalk chalk) Newspaper or other covering for the workspace surface
Please note that chalk can be fun AND messy. There will be chalk dust on the workspace and possibly on your learner. Please assist your learner with preparing the work surface with newspaper or another covering, and with cleanup after this class. Thank you!
