The Learners will be creating a value still life composition using charcoal. Learners will draw at least 5 organic shapes and arrange them on a table line. Before we start I will be introducing them to a few artist that have created still life. We will have discussions on works by M.C. Escher, Giorgio Morandi and Paul Gaugin. Charcoal stick (Black) and charcoal pencil Vine charcoal Pencil 9" x12" white drawing paper (a couple sheets) newsprint paper (a couple sheets) one sheet paper towel kneaded eraser or regular eraser *You can get a charcoal set at Amazon. They have the Amazon's Choice for "Charcoal for drawing" at $7.13 for the 1 pack and Amazon Choice for Faber-Castell kneaded Eraser with case for $3.28 * Michaels craft store also has a charcoal set for $5.99 (it does not come with vine charcoal). Michaels also has the kneaded eraser for $1.99 to $2.49. Vine charcoal sticks for $4.99. (Prices of materials may have changed since posting of supply list)
