Join us for a special Earth Day celebration class on April 22! In this class, we will: - meet the teacher and other learners who love the planet. - introduce each other and share where we are from. - read The Lorax by Dr. Seuss with our special stuffed Lorax - discuss the elements and characters in the story that contributed to the destruction of the environment. - discuss how some people today harm the environment. - discuss what actions we can take to help save the environment/bodies of water/animals or planet.

Hello! Nice to meet you! I am Ilene. I love all subjects, but my passion is everything related to Language Arts. I am excited to teach all my students about the wonderful world of the written word. We are going to travel through the pages of a book to learn about the real world and the fantastic world of fictional stories. I have earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (K-6) from Florida International University and I am certified in Elementary Education and hold an Endorsement in ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) (K-12). I have been an elementary school teacher for 15 years and have taught Reading, Writing, Language Arts, Math, Science, STEM, ESOL and even Spanish! Learning is a journey and everyone's path is different, but I believe that meaningful, fun, interactive lessons can empower students to be lifelong learners and readers.
