In this one-time class, your child will listen to the story: There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves! Since it is fall, this famous old lady is swallowing fall-themed items! Why is she doing this? I will be singing this story. Pretty soon, your child will be singing along with me! Wait till they see what happens in the end! WOW! Questions will be asked during the story and after as well. We will be making predictions too. After, we will color, cut out and glue the sequence of events in the order they happened in the story and end with a movement song: I’m A Little Scarecrow. Can you think of a better way to celebrate fall? :)

Howdy! I am so excited to be here! I have a BS in Elementary Education with a Kdg. Endorsement and a Reading minor from Texas A&M University and a Masters in Education from Lamar University!
I have been teaching for over 36 years which has included Pre-k thru 2nd grade and I am certified to teach up to 8th grade. I am also certified Gifted and Talented, as well as ESL. My passion is literacy which includes reading, writing, language, speaking, and listening. I incorporate literacy throughout all subject areas and look forward to making your child’s learning fun and interesting at the same time! As a teacher, I want to motivate my students to enjoy the learning process. I want them to be able to make real-life connections through reading and become critical thinkers as they grow in their learning. I am a Texas girl living in Michigan and I am also the proud mother of an Aggie lawyer, Brandon who is married to an Aggie lawyer, Lesley! They live in the DFW area. No grandchildren yet. In my free time, I like to make quilts, paint on wood, go camping with my sisters, and work on my flower beds. I love the color pink! Finally, I have 2 miniature schnauzers named Cooper and Sawyer! They are brothers and pretty silly! I can’t wait to meet your son or daughter. See you soon!
