This in-depth class gives students a chance to delve into elements of story writing in order to develop a strong story. Students will learn about the difference between fiction and nonfiction, creating characters, establishing setting, plotting a story, point or view, conflict, theme, tone and showing not telling. By the time they finish this class, they will have created and developed two stories from start to end. Class 1: What is a Story? Students learn about different types of books...

- Students will become familiar with the writing process; learn to revise their work; develop vocabulary; deepen reading comprehension skills; and improve writing skills.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing and a Masters in Elementary Education. i am certified in English for grades 6-12. I'm also an active writer of children's picture books (book is currently in publishing process) and a member of an international society for children's book writers (SCBWI)
