Students will be introduced to the Periodic Table. Students will learn: -Trends in the periodic table -Different groups within the periodic table & their characteristics -What an element is & its basic structure -Students will learn a little bit about electrons and the basic structure of an atom There is a lot of information in this class. Sometimes we have time to play a game or quiz at the end, and sometimes we do not. This course is just an introductory course. I am working on a multi-day course that will be more in-depth.

Students will be able to identify trends in the periodic table and be able to predict what traits an element has based on its location.

Hello!
UPDATE: I am taking a break from Outschool. After the spring semester of 2024 ends, I will take a hiatus.
I offer a variety of science and math classes. I have close to ten years of teaching experience. I've worked with students of all ages including young adults. I experience teaching in the classroom and teaching virtually. I have a B.A. from Louisiana State University.
I've helped tutoring student reach their goals whether it's to pass a standardized test or get a passing grade in a course.
I think that a basic understanding of science enhances one's life. It opens up a world hidden to most people. Studying science and math helps children to develop critical thinking skills that can be applied to all areas of life. My goal in all my classes is to inspire the students to study science. I want them to always ask questions and to stay curious.
Please reach out to me if you don't see a time that works for your child. I will try to be accommodating if it is possible.
When I am not teaching or prepping for classes, I enjoy crafting, reading, working out, and spending time with my dog.
