Building Reading Confidence: Early Literacy Development -2 Meetings/Wk -12 Wks

This 12-week course is designed to foster early literacy skills and build reading confidence in young learners. Each week, students will explore essential components of reading development, including phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. These skills are taught in an integrated and engaging way to help children form a strong literacy foundation.

The class structure includes a variety of interactive and age-appropriate activities. Each session begins with a fun warm-up to activate prior knowledge and spark interest. Core lessons are taught using a mix of direct instruction, hands-on practice, and collaborative exercises. Students will participate in games, storytelling, and guided reading activities to reinforce skills and make learning enjoyable. Visual aids, slides, and occasional video clips are incorporated to support diverse learning styles.

My teaching style is highly engaging and student-centered. Lessons are designed to encourage active participation and interaction among learners. I will guide the class through discussions, provide opportunities for group and individual practice, and offer immediate feedback to help students progress.

Throughout the course, students will be immersed in activities like sound recognition games, sentence building, story sequencing, and poetry reading to develop their skills. Weekly lessons are structured to allow students to practice reading, writing, and comprehension in meaningful contexts.

By the end of the course, students will demonstrate improved reading fluency, expanded vocabulary, and the ability to comprehend and discuss stories confidently. This class offers a supportive and fun learning environment where young readers can thrive.
