This 6-week course is designed to help students develop well-crafted, interesting sentences. We will study different sentences types that allow writers to convey their message clearly and effectively. Week 1: Writing assessment & goal setting Week 2: Simple sentences (subject/verb agreement, concise sentences) Week 3: Compound sentences (coordinating conjunctions, punctuation rules) Week 4: Complex sentences (subordinating conjunctions, punctuation rules) Week 5: Adding details...
Students will learn the three major types of sentence structures (simple, compound, complex). Students will learn how to correctly punctuate each sentence type. Students will learn how to effectively create sentences to convey their message. Students will learn how to give and receive constructive feedback about their writing.
