In this introductory class, students will learn about the 3D modeling program SketchUp. Students will not only get to see how you can create 3D models and what they can be used for, but they will create their own 3D models using free 3D modeling software. In this one-time course, students will see that they have the tools to create their own 3D models that could be used for architecture, interior design, furniture design, video game development, or creative expression. Students will learn how to use the free program, SketchUp, to create 3D models on the computer. Students will walk away with a better understanding of how 3D models are created, what they are used for, and exactly how to create their own.
Laptop or dekstop computer Mouse (A laptop's touchpad will not work for this application, the learner will need a mouse)

This course will use the third party tool, SketchUp. It is a free online tool for 3D modeling that is accessed using a web browser. It was originally created by Google, and has since been obtained by Trimble .It can be accessed by a PC, Mac, or Chromebook. You will need to create an account in order to use SketchUp. Your student will be able to use this third party tool during class (and after if they so choose.) In order to create the account, you can go to https://app.sketchup.com/ and either sing in with your Google account or your Apple ID or create an account with your email address.
