Cher is a naturalist in life and is currently working on her Master Naturalist certification. She is also a Master Gardener, a World Wildlife Federation's Certified Monarch Steward and is enrolled in Cornell University's Medicinal Plants certification program.

Because the wilderness skills being covered can change due to time of year or where a learner resides, the supply list will be posted in the classroom (and emailed to parents) one week prior to the start of each section. This allows a minimum of two full weeks for gathering supplies needed.
Great care has been taken to choose wilderness skills that do not require the use of dangerous tools like knives or hatchets. We will also not kill animals nor will we consume edible plants or medicinal herbs.
