課堂經歷
Come join in an interactive read aloud with Room on the Broom and then have fun creating with bricks to build a fall and/or Halloween themed build. If your child prefers materials like play dough that is fine too! You can use whatever building blocks or supplies you have at home to share about the story! Using my expertise as an elementary school librarian, I will share the story Room on the Broom in a very fun and enthusiastic style that will be sure to have your child drawn into the story. Our time together will help your child practice social skills and oral language as learners share out predictions, make connections, and respond to the text. These important reading skills be incorporated to our time together to help your child engage with the story. After the story, learners will share with others about their favorite part and we'll work to retell the story with a few quick teacher guided questions about the book. We'll even work together to create a storyboard retell of the book! Then we'll get crafty and creative as children will use whatever materials they would like to create a character, object, or favorite part of the story. Examples could be using dough to make a frog or using building bricks to create the witch's broom. The sky's the limit on what you could make! They also can build their own fall creation if they rather! Each learner will have time to share out their creation at the end of the class and I will be modeling for students how to ask questions or share a comment about each child's creation! So get on the broom---and come join for a fun read aloud and creativity class!

教師專業知識和證書
Read alouds are a critical part of a child's development and a wonderful way to engage learners in the reading process. As an experienced classroom teacher and elementary school librarian, with a Master's in Reading, I love to captive students with wonderful pictures books. I love to incorporate skills like predictions, connections, and summarizing when doing read alouds so learners connect to the text. Adding in the element of art and STEM, allows your child to use his/her creativity to build or make something related to the text. Fostering the love of creativity and reading are two of my passions and I hope your child will find this course a fun story time favorite!
