課堂經歷
This ongoing course teaches young people how to become critical thinkers and effective decision makers. Through engaging activities and thought-provoking discussions, students explore how to analyze situations, consider different perspectives, and evaluate evidence to make informed decisions. This course emphasizes how to think, not what to think, empowering students to develop their own unique problem-solving skills and decision-making processes. Critical thinking is one of the most valuable cognitive skills because it allows us to use discipline and logical skills to solve problems. Mastering the art of decision making helps children be more independent, responsible, and confident. It gives them a sense of control over their lives, reducing anxiety and promoting resilience. Being able to think independently allows children to resist negative peer pressure, form their own opinions, and trust their own thinking when they are asked to do things they don’t want to do. 父母的引導和規範
We will be covering a range of topics in this class, including some that may be sensitive or controversial. I encourage parents and caregivers to review each week's topic before class to determine whether it is appropriate for their learner. I recognize that every family has different values and beliefs, and I want to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and safe in my class. If you have any questions or concerns about a particular topic, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. I am committed to providing a respectful and inclusive learning environment for all students.
As the instructor of this class, I want to create a safe and respectful learning environment for all students. In order to do so, I ask that parents and caregivers refrain from engaging in class discussions or expressing their opinions during class time. This allows all students to feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and ideas without fear of judgment or criticism.
Additionally, while I will be facilitating class discussions and providing guidance, it's important to note that I will not be sharing my personal opinions on the topics covered. My role is to encourage critical thinking and respectful discourse, and to help students develop their own opinions. While I won't be sharing my personal opinions, I will be asking questions and challenging viewpoints in order to help students think more deeply about the topic at hand. However, I want to emphasize that if anything is said that is harmful or unkind to/about a specific person or group of people, I will intervene and redirect the conversation. It's important that everyone feels safe and respected in our class, and I'm committed to maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.
