Class Experience This is a one-session book club to examine the book, Freckle Juice. I’ll lead the students with the elements of depth and complexity by Dr. Sandra Kaplan. We’ll dig deep into conceptual learning and enrichment extensions. Students will be provided with enrichment opportunities and samples will be shared for their prompts. Sketch a Post, Create a Book Cover, and #hashtag summaries are a few of the optional projects provided. Students should read the book prior to our first class.

Advanced students will broaden our understanding of the story, characters, and author while deepening their understanding through conceptual learning.

I always incorporate a concept scavenger hunt to broaden our understanding of the book, characters, and author. Connections to Dr. Sandra Kaplan’s Depth and Complexity are part of each book study. I’m a veteran of gifted education.
