In this fun, energetic, once a week book club, students will engage fully in discussing an exciting Wellie Wishers book each week! This series, written by Valerie Tripp, is aimed at newly independent readers. With easy-to-read text, high-interest content, and beautiful illustrations on every page, these books will boost reading confidence and stamina. The interactions and friendships of the characters take center stage and are the highlight of each book. And this book club is a perfect introductory experience! Books will be read ahead of time, before class. Several books are also available as audiobooks! All of class time will be dedicated to discussing the books, playing fun games rand ending with a round of “Would You Rather” questions, all related to the book. This class is designed to be fully interactive and students are expected to be fully engaged. While there is grace for nervous and shy students, of course, if interacting with teacher and peers is painfully uncomfortable for your student, this class is not a good fit for them.
