“The City of Ember” is a story about a city in the dark.  We do not know why the city was build.  We don’t know exactly how long they have lived there.  We don’t know when they arrived. But we do know that the lights of the city are getting dimmer.  The lights are starting to go out.  And something must be done to save the people living there before it is dark for forever.
