讀書會 - 哈利波特#3 - 阿茲卡班的囚徒

Join us for this fun, highly energetic, and interactive book club. During this seven week class, we will meet once a week to “travel” to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! You do NOT want to miss our book club discussion of this beloved bestseller!

For twelve long years, the dread fortress of Azkaban held an infamous prisoner named Sirius Black. Convicted of killing thirteen people with a single curse, he was said to be the heir apparent to the Dark Lord, Voldemort.

Now he has escaped, leaving only two clues as to where he might be headed: Harry Potter's defeat of You-Know-Who was Black's downfall as well. And the Azkban guards heard Black muttering in his sleep, "He's at Hogwarts...he's at Hogwarts."

Harry Potter isn't safe, not even within the walls of his magical school, surrounded by his friends. Because on top of it all, there may well be a traitor in their midst.

In this multi-day class, we will meet once weekly for seven weeks to dive deep into the third book in the series… Harry Potter And The Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling. During class time, full participation in class discussion is expected. There is grace for a shy student, of course, but students will be encouraged to dive into the discussion as they acclimate to the group. Each student will have a turn to share their thoughts and ideas. I will have questions and discussion prompts ready each week, should conversation lag.  After our discussion time, we will end with a game if time permits! My book clubs are typically highly engaging, highly interactive, very lively! 

Chapters will be assigned to be read ahead of time, before class. There are 22 chapters in this book. The book is also available as an audiobook! All of class time will be dedicated to discussing the books, applying critical thinking, discussing characters, plot, and other literary aspects, designing a book cover, creating a house flag, etc, and ending with a fun game, all related to the book. Our last class will be a book party! Snacks are welcome and encouraged! I am creating book clubs for each book in the series! Stay tuned!
