課堂經歷
In this ongoing preschool French class, little language learners will listen to songs and make crafts while hearing and speaking French. Ms. Colleen is a bilingual preschool teacher. She has a degree in Child and Youth Study and has been a licensed Early Childhood Educator for over 25 years. Her calm and patient manner helps young children feel comfortable and have fun learning. This class will be conducted in English and French, and is not an immersion class, but rather a gentle introduction to the French language for little ones. Ms. Colleen speaks slowly and clearly and uses familiar stories and songs so that even children new to learning French will understand what happens in class. Each week a new theme will be explored using a story, songs and games, and a craft or sensory play. Children will need to have glue , crayons, safety scissors, a paint set and paper, and playdough available to them for each class. If additional supplies or worksheets are required, a message will be sent to parents before class. Parents are encouraged to be nearby in order to give help to their child during craft time. Lesson 1 Les Couleurs/Colours Ours Brun Dis-Moi Trois Souris Peintres Les Couleurs Primaires La Chanson de L'Arc en Ciel Rainbow painting activity ( children will need paper and paintbrushes as well red, blue, and yellow paint) Lesson 2 Les Chiffres / Numbers La Chenille qui Fait des Trous ( The Very Hungry Caterpillar) Caterpillar counting craft (PDF will be provided) 5 Elephants qui se balançait Elephant finger puppets (PDF provided) Lesson 3 Les Formes / Shapes Que Vois-tu? - shape hunt Je Fais un Lapin - rabbit craft Shape picnic Children will need construction paper , scissors and glue. Lesson 4 Mon Corps / My Body Va t'en Grand Monstre Vert! Tete Épaules, Genoux et Pieds Jean Petit qui Danse Playdough people (children will need play dough , pipe cleaners, q-tips, popsicle sticks, buttons, bottle caps, and other odds and ends to create people) Lesson 5 Les Tailles / Sizes Petit et Grand Boucle d'Or La Petite Girafe Children will need scissors, glue, and the provided worksheet. Lesson 6 Ma Famille / My Family Famille Doigts- Finger Family Ma Belle Famille Dans ma Famille Children will need playdough , paper and crayons and PDF will be provided Lesson 7 Introduction to the Alphabet Chanson de L'Alphabet ABC pour Danser Letter worksheets will be provided Lesson 8 Les Emotions / Feelings Comment te sens-tu? Quand tu as de la joie de cœur Children will need playdough and PDF provided

Hi, I'm Ms. Colleen.
I'm an Early Childhood Educator and home educating parent. I have my degree in Child Study from Mount Saint Vincent University and I have been teaching for 28 years. I am also a certified EFL (English as a Foreign Language) instructor. I speak both English and French. In 2020 I discovered my love of teaching online. I guess every cloud really does have a silver lining! My family and I live in beautiful Atlantic Canada. I'm excited to share fun and interactive learning activities with your children! Teaching is truly my passion and that shines through in my lessons. My teaching style is calm, patient, and warm. I believe that childhood is a journey, not a race. I love to learn new things and I try to instill a love of learning through my lessons. I love to laugh.
