The human body is composed of many intricate systems, enabling individuals to undertake everyday processes such as digesting food and responding to heat stimuli, just to name a few. These systems, although unique and extraordinary on their own, work together to provide the necessary support for everyday tasks. In this class, students will get an introduction to some of the major systems in the human body. Students will explore the bones that make up the human skeleton as well as get a basic understanding of the functions of the skeletal system. Students will also get an introduction to the respiratory, nervous, muscular, and circulatory systems and develop an understanding of their functions and learn how each is vital to the health of the human body through weekly recordings in addition to take-home worksheets that they can access from the weekly classroom board. Students will work with Nearpod, an interactive software program that allows students to participate in discussion boards, answer short quizzes, go on virtual field trips, and watch interactive videos that pertain to course material. Students will also work with CK-12 an interactive learning platform, that allows students to answer practice tests, read articles, and work in interactive textbooks. Assignments will be assigned on this platform weekly. Each student will be provided with their own login information to access their assignments and readings, which the teacher will set up.

課 2:
Skeletal System Part 2
In our second lesson, students will continue to study the skeletal system. We will further look into bone classification by discussing the differences between bone types such as long, short, and sesamoid bones. Additionally, students will learn about the specific location of these bone types in the skeletal system, as well as gain an understanding of the bones that comprise the arms, hands, legs, and other structures.

My entire life I wanted to explore the ocean and the environment. I have always had a great appreciation for the processes that are not completely understood and the unknowns that have yet to be discovered in the environment. At the beginning of my professional career in research, I worked as a naturalist on a whale watch boat and as a laboratory technician working on environmental cleanup projects such as water and land pollution. Then I moved into my dream job of being a research chemist at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in marine & geochemistry where I was able to be in the foundation of the research community and learn from many amazing scientists & researchers who devoted their lives to exploring the mysteries of the environment as well as protecting the animals and organisms living in it. For me, working as a student mentor with graduate and postgraduate students, made this experience one I will always cherish. As a teacher, I want my students to be excited about what they are learning, and with my background in research, I will work extra hard to make sure that if there is an aspect of a topic that a student is interested in, I will make every effort to alter my lessons to include those topics.
While I was working on my degree in molecular biology and biochemistry, I worked at a local hospital as an aid in the radiology department. This included pulling medical reports and handing x-ray images for the radiologist to view. In addition, I also worked in the admitting office and the emergency room registration department. This was an amazing four years, that provided me with valuable knowledge and experience into the complexities of the human body.
