In this online social studies class, we will dive into the history of Presidents' Day using the book Presidents' Day by Anne Rockwell. Students will learn about the origins of the holiday, the presidents we celebrate, and how this day honors leadership in America. The class will include an interactive discussion about the importance of Presidents' Day, followed by a fun activity to help students explore the contributions of U.S. presidents. Agenda: - Welcome and Introduction - Read Aloud: Presidents' Day by Anne Rockwell - Discussion: What is Presidents' Day? Why do we celebrate it, and who are some of the presidents we honor? - Group Activity: Create a Presidents' Day poster that highlights a favorite president and their accomplishments. - Reflection and Wrap up
