課堂經歷
Instruction will be tailored to the developmental needs of the student. Lessons will focus upon the Seven T's of Brass performance: 1) Tone (sound quality) 2) Tonguing (articulation) 3) Timing (rhythm) 4) Tuning (intonation) 5) Technique (coordinated facility/dexterity) 6) Trajectory (building of range, phrasing, and musicality) 7) Tenacity (staying with it until it stays with you) Lessons generally follow this pattern: 1) concept review, 2) playing the assignment from the previous lesson,...
The goal of one-on-one lessons is to steadily increase the achievement of the Seven T's of Brass performance as listed above. This comes through a variety of exercises, short melodies, and longer pieces of music recommended by the instructor, the student's school band director, and/or the student's own choice. The PREREQUISITE of 1 1/2 years is to ensure the student has completed at least a first-year level method book and was developing second- or third-year skills on the instrument in the previous school year. Students who do not meet these criteria are encouraged to sign up for "I Really Liked Beginner Band: Finishing the First Year of Band."
提供的家庭作業
Assignments for skill development are given after each lesson. The student is expected to practice 30 minutes a day, 5 days per week. The student will record self-performance through the SmartMusic online program for the teacher to track the student's progress. SmartMusic will not be required for the first few lessons in order for the student's parent(s) to decide to continue lessons.2 - 4 每週課外時間
提供的評估
Assessment is two-fold: 1) performance during the lesson with noticeable progress; 2) student recordings through SmartMusic between lessons. SmartMusic gives immediate feedback to the student each time music records on the program. The teacher gives an interactive assessment during lessons. Reports of student progress may be requested by the student's parent-guardian monthly.提供的成績
