Students will work with the teacher on achieving greater understanding of fundamental concepts in German, in order to be prepared for travel to or life in Germany. We will work on what the student and parents deem necessary to help their child succeed in class. This class will utilize a small group format in order for students to have plenty of time for personalized feedback and practice. The teacher will use slides, grammar practice, videos (both for grammar explanation and to learn about culture) and games (such as Kahoot! in order to give students a well-rounded language learning experience. Topics covered will be: Family & friends Cities and regions in German-speaking countries Sports and free-time activities German alphabet and pronunciation Food and restaurant culture Driving, German-made vehicles and the Autobahn Americans living in Germany- how if life different from the U.S. and what to expect Weather and seasons Holidays and traditions Brief overview of German history from WWII-present
學習目標
Students will work on achieving a greater understanding of fundamental concepts in German and building upon skills learned through outside-of class experiences living in or travelling to Germany.
