In this ESL Beginner's Conversation Club, students will meet weekly to develop their English skills by engaging in guided conversation about a variety of fun, planned topics! In our beginner conversation club, students will review vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and sentence frames. After a short review lesson, students will practice with guided conversation. 

Each week's discussions will feature a different topic with a vocabulary list that is appropriate to the A1/A2 levels on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). When students are ready for more natural conversation, they can advance to the ESL Conversation Club at the B1/B2 level.

Can you visit your friend on a school night? I cannot visit my friend on a school night but I can visit them on the weekend. 

Why can't you visit your friend on a school night? I have to do my homework and go to bed early on a school night. 

Sample Sentence Showing Inappropriateness:
Can you invite your friend to swim with you when they have a broken leg? No. I can't invite them because they can't swim with a broken leg!

In this lesson, we will discuss whether something is a need or a want. A need is something that is required to survive. Food, water, clothes, and shelter are all needs. A want is something people would like to have, but don't need to survive, like a new toy.
