初級/中低法語營

This course is designed for beginner to intermediate students to practice their French and advance their level.
Students who have taken my classes: "Accelerated Beginner French Camp Part 1, and Part 2," are also prepared for this course to deepen their skills.

This class doesn’t require extensive knowledge, but it does require knowing basic grammar, such as articles (un, une, des, etc.), feminine vs. masculine words, pronouns and verbs in the present.

I teach with Google slides, which I use to introduce new concepts, as well as to show spelling and grammar in written form.
As I go through class, each student is called on, one at a time, for proper pronunciation, grammar, translation, etc.

While we will go over grammatical concepts and vocabulary, there will be a good portion of class time dedicated to listening and speaking practice.

This semester-long course will meet twice a week and cover the following topics each week:

Week 1: Introductions and Review
We introduce ourselves and review the basics.

Week 2: Using verbs in the present
We go over regular verbs of the 3 groups.

Week 3: Verbs Faire, Vouloir, Pouvoir
Learning how to conjugate these irregular verbs in the present tense.

Week 4: Descriptive, possessive pronouns and adverbs
How to use descriptive, possessive pronouns and certain adverbs

Week 5: Pronominal verbs and reflexive pronouns
We learn how to use reflexive pronouns and pronominal verbs.

Week 6: Forming questions
Using what, where, why, which in questions

Week 7: Dialogue
We will practice dialogue with the theme of introducing ourselves to somebody.

Week 8: Common idioms
We will discuss common expressions, and students learn to write what they hear

Week 9: Working on speaking skills
Students learn to properly pronounce words in texts, and practice conversation

Week 10: Vocabulary about daily routine
We will go over the vocabulary associated with a day's routine through text

Week 11: Vocabulary about weather and time
We will learn more words and expressions to talk about weather and time

Week 12: Conversation and review/wrap up
We will wrap up the semester with a review and conversation, consolidating speaking, writing and listening.
