Chess for Beginners: Learning the Basic Fundamental of Chess Chess is all about the brain, and may play an important role in the coaching and advancement of a child’s logical and planning skills. Develop Strategy, Start Winning! In this 4 week class new learners will be offered a quick start guide to learn the rules, strategies, and tactics of each piece. Starting with the basics this comprehensive class provides a clear illustrated introduction to the rules that govern the piece structure; taught in an easy to understand format in which Coach Carlos has taught hundreds of students with great success. Being provided easy to follow instructions, illustrations and directions to show the players how the pieces move on the board; your child will learn quicker, retain more of what they have learned, and welcome the adventure of a challenge. Your tiny genius will start out strong, and develop important tools, vital to mastering chess. they can learn and gain more experience through gameplay along with guidance and curriculum tailored to their young minds. Day 1: Learn How to Move and Capture Coach Carlos will offer new players a quick start guide to learn the fundamental, strategies, as well as board rules and piece placement. Starting with the basics this comprehensive class provides a clear illustrated introduction to the rules that govern the pawn structure. I will provide easy to follow instructions, illustrations and directions to show the players how pawns move on the board. Day 2:Mastering the Knight The Movement of the unique knight will be taught in an easy to understand format in which Coach Carlos has taught hundreds of students with great success. Your child will learn quicker, retain more of what they have learned, and welcome the adventure of a challenge. Your tiny genius will start out strong, commanding the puzzling Knight and developing the next step in mastering chess. Day 3: Checkmate Challenge The rules of the Powerful Queen, the Strategic Bishop, and the Mighty Rook, and the art of Checkmate. Your student will build confidence in their game through puzzles and imagination. Day 4: Game Day Students will use the skills they have developed in this series of lessons by working together to play a full game against an common opponent. No outside learning tools are needed, just the students imagination and Outschool's Zoom feature.

Hi, I am Coach Carlos, and I want to make you the next Bobby Fischer.
I am a United States Chess Federation player with 10 years of coaching experience. As a coach, I have worked with over 1,000 students and numerous organizations.
Now, I am eager to share my strategies with you.
I believe anyone can be a chess player if they have the right instruction. In my classes, students learn more than how to play chess; they learn how to be creative players. With my emphasis on creativity, students learn how to think outside the box and utilize numerous strategies. After working with me, students will be prepared to enter tournaments and be successful players.
I teach all levels and ages. My beginner classes are perfect for students ages 4-9 years. In my beginner classes, we will focus on the basics of the game, building a strong foundation for their future. For me, it is not about what the student knows; it is about their commitment. I always say, "Practice doesn't make perfect, perfect practice make perfect.”
