Welcome to the yellow belt class! I’m so excited to continue working with your children and watch them grow. Here’s what you can expect from me and the class: Each belt cycle is roughly three months. For this cycle, your karate student will start at yellow belt and work to earn their orange belt. We will learn Japanese terminology, punches, kicks, blocks, footwork, and stances. I may assign very simple homework assignments throughout the course where I see there are areas of improvement. Assignments will be tasks that take no longer than a few minutes. (e.g. count to 5 in Japanese twice a day this week, practice 10 jumping jacks 3 days this week, pick one day this week and see how many punches you can do in 30 seconds, etc.) When I assign homework I will announce it at the end of class AND post it in the classroom.提供的評估

Students will need to wear their karate uniform and belt, have an open area so they can move around, and a bottle of water nearby! While we will definitely warm up and stretch in class, students are encouraged to stretch beforehand as well.
