Welcome to our Weekly Coding Club for Young Coders! In this class, your child will explore the basics of coding using Scratch, a fun and beginner-friendly platform. Each week, we'll embark on a new coding adventure, creating games, animations, and interactive projects. The sessions are structured with live instruction, hands-on coding, and collaborative sharing. Basic computer skills are recommended, and participants should have a device with a keyboard and mouse. Additionally, as we'll use Zoom for screen sharing, having that capability will enhance the interactive learning experience. No prior coding experience is needed—just bring your enthusiasm to learn and join us for an engaging journey into the world of coding! Tentative Schedule Week 1 (Week of Jul 15th): Sequencing Activity: Make an animal walk, turn, and produce a sound. Week 2 (Week of Jul 22th): Loops Activity: Animate a character using loops. Week 3 (Week of Jul 29th): Events and Conditional Statements Activity: Make a dog move when it hears a sound using both events and conditional statements. Week 4 (Week of Aug 5th): Advanced Concepts - Simple Game Creation Activity: Apply sequencing, loops, events, and conditional statements to create a simple game.
