課堂經歷
Together, we will learn and discuss: - The five positions of the feet - Port de bras (arm positions) of the Ceccheti Method - Basic barre routine and stretches - Proper turnout and hip rotation - French terminology - Quick history of ballet and discussion on famous dancers (historic and modern-day) and famous performances - Safety and health (proper warm up and stretching, healthy diet and water intake, etc) For our first class, we will be building a foundation and learning a basic routine for the barre (plié, tendu, battements, rond de jambe, developpé, stretches). We will then move to center work, where we practice balances and basic traveling steps. Our second class will be the learned routine, but with a smoother transition between movements. At the end of the class we will have our discussion on ballet health and safety, and will be reminding students to continue practicing these routines at home!

Provided are some fun optional coloring sheets that features famous ballets! It is not necessary to purchase a ballet barre; your child can easily use a chair or a counter that is at a comfortable height for them. They will want to be able to rest their hand on something parallel to their hips. It does help if you use a webcam for class that can be pointed down so that I can see the student's full body and feet. Footwear and floor: students can dance in socks, unless they own canvas or leather ballet slippers. It is best if they can dance on a hard surface, such as hard wood or linoleum, rather than carpet. A mirror is optional, but if you own a full-length mirror and can move it to their location, they might find it helpful for practicing offline.

I am a ballet teacher and started my own non-profit dance program where I teach dance to homeschoolers in my local area. I have studied dance most of my life, and in college, and have always been passionate about the performing arts. I believe ballet is an important dance form for everyone to learn, and can improve flexibility, coordination, balance, musical skills, rhythm and core strength. It also builds confidence and self-discipline. Ballet is for life!
