課堂經歷
I will be teaching students how to make chocolate chip cookies and read a recipe card. Students will learn the different elements in a recipe such as ingredients, materials, and steps. Along with this, students will read about the origin of chocolate chip cookies and be able to answer questions correctly by comprehending what they've read. Class will start with a discussion about what they notice on a recipe card, then from there we will discuss the different components in a recipe card. Hands-on activity: making the chocolate chip cookies while reinforcing the elements that were talking about before. Finally, we will read a nonfiction text about where chocolate chip cookies came from. At the end to show knowledge, students will play a Kahoot. Finally, students will be able to enjoy their chocolate chip cookie creations! Interactions: Slides, games, discussions, video clips, hands-on demonstrations.

Materials: Baking sheet, mixed bowl, measuring cups, measuring spoons, whisk, parchment paper, tablespoon, cup, large spoon Ingredients: 2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 -1/2 teaspoons cornstarch 1/2 teaspoon salt 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted & cooled 5 minutes 3/4 cup packed light or dark brown sugar 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk, at room temperature 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract 1 -1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or chocolate chunks

We will be using a nonfiction text that discusses the origin of chocolate chip cookies, as well as a recipe card that I made from my own recipe.

I plan to teach a variety of enrichment classes such as Newswriting, Yoga, and Baking. On top of that, I’ll be offering 1-1 tutoring as well as small class ELA groups in grades K-7.
I was a certified teacher for the past 11 years teaching from grades K-8th. On the side, I’ve also taught kids yoga. Currently, I’m a reading interventionist for grades 1st-12th at an alternative day school.
My teaching philosophy is that everyone can learn. It just might look different and the goals achieved another way. I will do whatever I can to help my students feel confident and comfortable to make mistakes and ask for help.
I’m a Mama of 12 ! Just kidding: 4 of those are my fur babies (3 cats, a dog, and chickens). My family and I absolutely love the beach and would move there in a heartbeat. I’m an avid reader and will often be caught up at 3am trying to finish a good book; although, I will suffer for it later when I can’t kept my eyes open.評論
