課堂經歷
This ongoing cooking class for learners on the autism spectrum will focus on fostering independence by learning a safe no-stove recipe for making various meals. We will alternate between savory and sweet recipes. In addition to cooking, students will also have the opportunity for social opportunities by interacting with their peers. Each week your learner can add the meals to their recipe book. Prior to beginning the cooking process, we will have a short group discussion about the learners...
Students will practice: -Cooking skills -Microwave safety -How to follow a visual recipe -Fine motor skills -Social skills
A supply list will be sent at least a week before each class that includes the materials and utensils needed for class the following week.
We will not be using a stove, oven, or knives during this class, however food removed from the microwave may be hot and parental guidance is needed to ensure that only microwave-safe materials are used. If your child has any food allergies or dietary restrictions please let me know so that substitutions can be made. Please check the ingredient list each week to ensure that they are safe for your child.
