This class is a read aloud of a fiction story by the author, Robert Munsch. I will give the students a voice/choice on which story we will read depending on their interests. The focus will be on listening to a fiction story and comprehending what was read. We will discuss story elements such as characters, setting of the story, and the problems in the story. We will use the pictures to further understand the story. We will discuss the author's purpose for writing the story. The students...
-The students will practice their listening skills. -Students will use their speaking skills to discuss the story elements and the author's purpose. -The students will use their thinking skills to make predictions and comprehend and retell the story in their own words. -The students will interact with other students and have a few laughs.
A cozy place to sit to listen to a funny story and maybe a stuffed animal or a snack to enjoy while listening to the story.
