Prerequisite: Must have taken a Beginning ASL class with me OR have a working ASL vocabulary of at least 150 words, be able to count to 100 in ASL and effectively fingerspell. The purpose of this class is to be introduced to ASL grammar, classifiers, mouth morphemes, facial expressions, body language, signing V and learn how to apply this knowledge to effectively communicate in ASL. I have been an ASL interpreter in personal and educational settings. I have a degree in Deaf Education and have taught preschool deaf children in a self contained class and interpreted for mainstreamed students at the elementary and college levels. I have been teaching Beginning ASL classes on Outschool for one year and taught Level 1 and Level 2 ASL classes at a small private college.
